In Love

  “Gabriela!” the deep voice on the other end of the line said. I paused for a second. Was this the voice of my friend? I didn’t remember it being so deep! Well, I hadn’t seen him for five long years. He must’ve changed a little, in all that time. I had missed him, prayed for him, cried for him, and now here he was on the other end of the phone! We chit-chatted about little things. All too soon, it was over. He said he didn’t want to take up any more of my time. My heart hurt. Would I ever hear his voice again? 


  I roamed around the campground where I was staying, feeling lost and lonely. Eleven minutes! The whole call had lasted only eleven minutes. “Lord, it wasn’t enough for me!” I said. Clear as day, God’s still, small voice answered, “It’s not enough for Me, either.”


  In that moment, I knew. Jesus is not just a friend; He’s in love with me! He wants to be with me all day, and so often I only have a few minutes for Him. 


  My friends, Jesus is in love with you! Do you think you’re giving Him enough time?

      Haha, that is part of the plan! 😉 I want to leave you asking questions. Over the years as I write, you’ll probably hear more of this story, but it’s doubtful I’ll tell you that who exactly I’m talking about.

To Be Like Jesus

      I was not okay. My family and I had COVID,…and so did most of our friends. To make matters worse, our 16 year-old chihuahua, Belle, was dying. It was a slow and painful death. I was spending all of my strength, trying to keep her comfortable, which meant that I, myself was not getting any rest.
